Is Your Business “Sales Ready”? A Quick Way to Identify Opportunities for Growth

You’re the CEO—the visionary, the one everyone counts on. You’ve built something meaningful, with a team and a mission worth fighting for. Which is amazing! The problem is, your revenue often feels random, and the fight for sales is never-ending and exhausting.

Let’s be honest: most CEOs didn’t start their business to become a salesperson — they started it to help people, share their expertise, and create something valuable and beautiful. But no matter how awesome your mission, your business needs revenue to survive and grow. And that means getting real about mastering sales.

Yes, you.

Sales shouldn’t be the thing that drains you. It should be the thing that frees you. But if you’re like most of the CEOs I talk to, you’re either avoiding sales altogether, or stuck in a system that’s wasteful, confusing, and downright exhausting.

You may even be seeing decent results, but your business still doesn’t feel like the one you dreamed of. You’ve got revenue, but not freedom. And freedom is what you truly want. The truth is, even “successful” companies have gaping holes in their revenue operations.

Here’s the thing: being Sales Ready does not mean doing one thing better. A Sales Ready Organization (my term) is really a healthy and efficient ecosystem that works together to succeed at bringing in consistent revenue.

So my question for you is: Is your business Sales Ready?

Let’s find out.

What It Means to be “Sales Ready”

Being Sales Ready means your business has the people, systems, and strategy in place to make sales—consistently, predictably, and profitably.

It means:

  • Your team knows what to do and how to do it.

  • Your marketing actually generates conversations.

  • Your sales process doesn’t feel like pulling teeth.

  • You have freedom, not just revenue.

  • You finally feel like the masterful CEO—not the overworked operator.

I like to picture a “Sales Ready Organization” as a world-class racecar team. Think of all the pieces that have to be in working order for that team to function at its top potential. The car must be beautifully built and its engine perfectly tuned (this is your sales process). The driver (that’s you, the CEO) must be coached to perform their best. And the pit crew (your team) must be skilled at efficiently supporting the whole endeavor.

If any of those elements are broken or wasteful, you won’t have a chance of winning the race.

But when all of those parts are functioning to their full potential and aligned to your goal, all you have to do as the driver/CEO is jump in and drive that car to victory.

Signs Your Business Isn’t Sales Ready Yet

The problem? Most CEOs are running their sales and revenue operations in an unsophisticated, disorganized, and random way.

You’re leading and growing a serious business that is generating significant revenue of 10s or 100s of millions. But every business I’ve looked at has had serious gaps in their sales process, structure, systems, and operations that was causing them to miss opportunities to add revenue and wasting their team's time.

This leads to:

  • Lack of sales, inconsistent results, and missed revenue targets

  • Long sales cycles, including missed follow-ups and lost leads

  • Multiple pipelines that are often chaotic and confusing to you and your team

  • Revenue and sales reports that don’t actually help in decision making

  • Fear, worry, doubt, and stress around money and sales

  • Having to lay people off

You might feel like you’re doing everything right—and still wonder why it’s not easier.

And here’s the truth: You don’t have to do more.

The 5 Pillars of the Sales Ready Framework

Over the years, I’ve worked with hundreds of B2B companies to assess their sales operations and help CEOs get clear on how to grow—with less stress and more ease.

What I’ve learned is this: If you want to achieve your goals and create the life you want, you and your business must master the skill of making sales—profitably and consistently.

The key to adding more revenue is getting the right foundation in place and operating well. But when any part of that foundation is missing, incomplete, or broken, your business is going to struggle with sales and waste time.

The SRO Framework provides the required clarity and structure for building a business that makes sales consistently and profitably. This foundation includes 5 pillars:

  1. Mindset: How you think, feel, and the actions you take

  2. Leadership: The frameworks and structure required to lead the sales organization

  3. Marketing: How you identify your people and create conversations with them

  4. Sales: Your processes for talking with people and making sales

  5. Project Management: How you manage, organize, and improve your sales operations as a project.

When these aspects are complete, aligned, and optimized, your business becomes Sales Ready—and that’s the foundation of sustained, scalable growth.

Real Results from Sales Ready Clients

My clients aren’t just “doing sales”—they’re mastering the ability to create what they want whenever they want. They aren’t resisting sales work and are creating the money they need to move forward. They are also learning to master themselves in the process.

  • Turning around unprofitable businesses into 7-figure revenue machines

  • Streamlining bloated sales pipelines into clear, easy-to-manage workflows

  • Closing multiple 7-figure deals by knowing exactly what to do and when

  • Building marketing systems that spark consistent, meaningful conversations

  • Enjoying confident decision-making, more freedom, and a deeper love for their business

  • Having plenty of money to solve problems, build a high performing team, and buy the things they desire.

This isn’t about more hustle. It’s about clarity, mastery, and intentional growth.
