So, last weekend I sold the bicycle in the picture below. And, it was a super easy and fun sale.
.
And I mention it because the way I sold it may help you approach your B2B sales effort in a different way that puts more cash in your pocket and helps you have more fun.
.
You probably want to sell more, and most people want to move their lives forward, grow, and expand.
.
It is a fundamental law of the universe that life wants to expand and create more life.
.
You can see this almost everywhere in nature.
.
But, you are not selling as much as you want to or having as much fun as you want.
.
And if you don’t figure this out, shift how your team sells, and innovate your sales process in 2020, you are going to miss out on the opportunity to create the revenue growth and positive cash flow needed to scale your business.
.
And, you don’t want to go out like that.
.
So how did I sell this bicycle?
.
The first step was to get clear on why I was selling it and what my intention was.
.
Which was to sell the bike, make some money, and help someone who could benefit from having it.
.
And, with that clarity I was ready to make a sale.
.
When the buyer showed up, I talked very little about the bike and kept the conversation focused on why he wanted a bike, what type of riding he was going to do, and if this bike was a good fit for him.
.
I know a ton about bikes and can talk ad nauseam about gear ratios, suspension setup, tire pressure, frame geometry, riding styles, etc…
.
But none of that matters.
.
People buy bikes and pretty much everything else for their reasons. Your reasons matter very little if at all.
.
So, by focusing on what this person wanted and why they wanted it, I took myself and my needs off the table, which kept my energy clean and the sale in integrity. And the result was easily selling the bike for my asking price with very little objection.
.
The point is that when you focus on the other person and their reasons, everything goes much smoother. If you make it about you or the bike, you introduce resistance.
.
Keep it about helping them and make some money for yourself in the process!
.
I hope you have a great weekend!
